氯化鐵類用氧化鐵皮、鹽酸、硫酸鋁為主要原料制成的氯化鐵防水劑，呈深棕色溶液，主要成分為氯化鐵、氯化亞鐵及硫酸鋁。該防水劑先用水稀釋后再加入水泥、砂中攪拌，形成一種防水性能良好的防水砂漿。砂漿中氯化鐵與水泥水化時析出的氫氧化鈣作用生成氯化鈣及氫氧化鐵膠體，氯化鈣能激發(fā)水泥的活性，提高砂漿的強度，而氫氧化鐵膠體能降低砂漿的析水性，提高密實性。

It is a dark brown solution and mainly composed of ferric chloride, ferrous chloride, and aluminum sulfate. The reaction between ferric chloride in mortar and calcium hydroxide precipitated during cement hydration produces calcium chloride and iron hydroxide colloids.
